We hid a geocache in April 2010 to celebrate Marilyn and Nick’s 40th wedding anniversary but by the end of May it had gone missing. On a recent walk, we made a last-ditch attempt to find it… we did – hidden behind the wrong tree! Wondering what on earth I’m talking about?

A geocache is a small box hidden outdoors containing a few trinkets and a log book. You pinpoint its location using GPS and then place the coordinates and clues online. Basically it is a high-tech treasure hunting game and a good excuse for a walk. Fellow geocachers locate your box, exchange an item or two and write up their experience in your log book and on the website www.geocaching.com. Our box is themed with red objects to celebrate my parents-in-law’s ruby anniversary and is called Ruby Casebase if you fancy hunting for it.
